Hurricane® Plus natural smoke heat exhaust ventilator by Green Energy Solutions, Dubai, U.A.E

Effective Natural Ventilation for Industrial Buildings

For crucial natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation in Dubai, U.A.E, and the Arabian Gulf, the stationary Hurricane® Plus natural ventilator offers an innovative solution for industrial buildings.

Designed for the Middle East’s climate, it surpasses traditional spinning models, often referred to as 'turbovents'. Its patented technology maximizes wind power for efficient removal of heat and fumes from warehouses and factories.

Utilizing the Arabian Gulf’s consistent winds, it provides reliable natural ventilation, reducing energy costs. Durable and maintenance-free, the Hurricane® Plus is a superior choice for industrial ventilation.

Why is good ventilation important?

New studies about workplace safety show that having clean, healthy air inside buildings is crucial. Poor air quality can seriously affect people’s health and how well they work.

Here’s why:

  • High temperatures: When it’s too hot, people get less efficient. For every degree above 37°C (your normal body temperature), you can lose up to 15% of your work efficiency.
  • High humidity: If the air is too humid (over 50%), it can cause serious heat stress, making people feel very unwell.
  • High carbon dioxide levels: Too much carbon dioxide (over 1500ppm) leads to tiredness, headaches, and feeling sleepy.
  • Machinery problems: High temperatures make machines work poorly and can cause them to break down. High humidity can cause rust and lubrication issues.

By properly ventilating a building, you’ll improve productivity. This means you’ll see a quick and ongoing return on your investment in a good ventilation system.

How we tested our ventilators:

To see how well our wind-powered ventilators worked, we used a simple test. We put four small, light spinners (like tiny wind vanes) around the inlet of the ventilator to show the airflow. We watched these spinners all day for a week and noticed two main things:

  1. The airflow was more on and off, with longer pauses, in the rotating ventilator, even though the turbine head kept rotating.
  2. From this, we figured out that the way wind naturally creates airflow (the Bernoulli Effect) worked better on our stationary (non-spinning) ventilator than on the rotating one. We also realized that the rotating head didn’t actually help the airflow. When the wind changed direction, the airflow got disrupted and took longer to settle down on the rotating ventilator compared to the smooth, stationary one.

So, why do some ventilators have rotating heads if they don’t improve airflow, cause more turbulence, and waste energy to spin? It is to keep rain, dust, and birds out.

Clever marketing people have given these rotating turbine heads a fancy name, "turbovents,". It doesn’t mean anything in science.

We’re different. Our Hurricane® Plus ventilator uses a smart, patented design that works with the laws of physics to create better airflow without spinning. Because we don’t have to worry about bearings or weight, we can make our ventilators from strong, thick aluminum, so they last much longer.

Main benefits

  1. Brand new design using latest computerized technology; removing heat, humidity, dust/sand and fumes better than ANY other ventilation product.
  2. Increases productivity by 15%+. Reduce absenteeism, staff turnover.
  3. Reduces maintenance, lubrication and breakdowns of machinery.
  4. Needs no maintenance, repair or replacement (20 year warranty).
  5. Works 24/7, removing heat and humidity from buildings at night.
  6. ROI: 2-4 years. Less than 1 year,If replacing/instead of electrical exhaust fans.

Design & testing

The simplicity of the Hurricane® Plus overcomes the hazards and complications affecting the old rotating wind ventilators, and eliminates the bearing systems that are prone to failure.

The Hurricane® Plus has undergone extensive testing in Dubai to ISO 16956:2015. The Hurricane® Plus has double the capacity of typical out dated roof mounted natural ventilators.

Premium quality engineering

Many older spinning ventilators are used across the Gulf region. The Hurricane® Plus provides much better airflow, which means you’ll save money and see a big improvement in how well your team works.

Designed in Australia and made in Dubai to very high standards, the Hurricane® Plus comes with a 20-year warranty, showing how confident we are in its quality.

Made from strong, marine-grade aluminum in Dubai, the Hurricane® Plus is built to last and handle the tough Middle Eastern weather.

Because it’s stationary, the Hurricane® Plus can withstand strong winds and cyclones, and it’s light enough that you won’t need to reinforce your roof. It’s also completely waterproof, no matter the weather.

The Hurricane® Plus works without electricity and needs no maintenance, providing continuous ventilation day and night, year after year.

Properties

Even at low wind speeds, the Hurricane® Plus patented configuration allows hot air to rise and be exhausted out of the roof space.

Cleverly designed to allow air to flow out, Hurricane® Plus prevents rain from entering – even in cyclonic conditions.

Humidity

As well as removing heat, fumes and dust, Hurricane® Plus is excellent at lowering humidity in your premises. During the day, moisten laden air enters and accumulates in the hot stratified roof space of a building that is sealed and waterproof, and cannot let the moisture out. As it cools in the evening the temperature drops, lowering the vapour pressure and elevating the dew point. Consequently, and particularly during high humidity, water condenses on the building structure. This can mean a continuous build up of humidity during the summer months, that can cause serious damage, and is very uncomfortable to work in.

Natural ventilation works 24 hours, so as well as removing humidity in the daytime, at night Hurricane® Plus will be removing any residual humidity from during the day. At night there is usually little or no wind, and unlike rotating ventilators, the Hurricane® Plus design means it is still ventilating without the wind, and is at least 200% more efficient at removing the humidity.

Wall inlet louvers

It is essential that for a natural ventilation system to work properly, and continuously over the 24 hours, low level wall inlet louvers are fitted in the building. This ensures the required air changes to reduce the heat and humidity are achieved. We can manufacture, supply and install quality sand trap louvers that will let the air in, but not the sand.
